About
Some videos are just too quiet — lecture recordings, conference calls, low-budget films, or clips recorded far from the microphone. Browsers cap video volume at 100%, which often isn't enough. Safest Volume Booster fixes that. It uses the Web Audio API to amplify the audio of any HTML5 video on the page, letting you boost the volume up to 10x its normal level — directly from a simple popup, with a live slider and one-click presets. Key features: • Boost any video's volume from 0x up to 10x using a smooth slider • One-click "Boost to 10x" button for instantly maxing out quiet videos • One-click "Reset to 1.0x" to return to normal volume • Your chosen volume level is remembered per browser and automatically re-applied when you reload the page or revisit a site — no need to click the extension again • A badge on the toolbar icon shows your current boost level at a glance • A "Turn Off Extension" switch lets you fully disable the extension — when off, no badge is shown and no audio boosting happens anywhere • Works on virtually any site that uses standard HTML5 `<video>` elements • If no video is found but an iframe is detected (e.g. an embedded player), the popup offers a direct link to open that video in its own tab so you can boost it there Privacy and permissions: Safest Volume Booster is built with the absolute minimum permissions needed to function. It does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data, browsing history, or analytics. All processing happens locally in your browser using the Web Audio API. The only data stored is your chosen volume level and on/off preference, saved locally via the standard Chrome storage API so your settings persist between sessions. This extension is completely free, open source, contains no ads, and requires no account or sign-up.
