    description
Sonto is a calm Chrome sidebar for discovering interesting things and revisiting what mattered, without the noise of social media.

Open it anytime to explore a slow, thoughtful stream of art, ideas, and stories. Save highlights from around the web, revisit recent pages, and ask questions about your own browsing history using your OpenAI or Gemini API key.

    ZEN FEED

Sonto brings together a rewarding mix of content that feels good to check, not addictive to scroll.
You might see public-domain art from museums like the Met, Rijksmuseum, Getty, Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian, along with the music album of a day, haiku, Japanese proverbs, Oblique Strategies, Atlas Obscura stories, and selected links from sources like Hacker News and Reddit.
You can also add your own custom RSS feeds and JSON API sources, so the sidebar reflects your own interests.
The feed updates quietly in the background, so there is always something new when you open the sidebar.

    SAVE WHAT MATTERS
Highlight text on any page and save it instantly to your personal library.
Sonto stores your saved snippets locally with the source page and timestamp, so you can return to the original context anytime.

    CHAT WITH YOUR HISTORY
Ask questions about pages you visited and things you saved.
Sonto uses your own OpenAI or Gemini API key to generate answers grounded in your browsing history and saved snippets. There is no Sonto backend or proxy server.

    RELATED PAGES
As you browse, Sonto can surface related pages from your recent history using semantic search across your local data. It helps you reconnect ideas without manual tagging or organizing.

    RECENT BROWSING
Browse your recent pages from the sidebar and jump back to what you opened earlier, without digging through Chrome history.

    PRIVACY
Your saved snippets, settings, and local browsing data stay in your browser.
If you enable AI features, relevant data is sent directly to the provider you choose through your own API key. Sonto does not run its own servers and does not route your data through a separate backend.
