About

Dot is a calm, focused speed-reader. Instead of moving your eyes across lines of
text, Dot shows the words to you, one at a time, at a single fixed point, so your
eyes never travel. That removes the line-tracking and re-reading that make long
reading tiring.

Made with ADHD in mind:
If reading a long article means losing your place, re-reading the same line, or
bouncing off a wall of text before you start, Dot is built for you. It strips
away the things that pull focus:
• Your eyes never move. Every word appears in the same spot, so there's nothing
  to track and no place to lose.
• One word at a time. No daunting wall of text, just steady, visible progress.
• A calm, full-screen view with no clutter, at a pace you control.
Dot isn't a medical device or a treatment. It's a reading tool designed to make
focused reading feel easier.

How it works:
• Click the Dot icon to read the current page's article, or select any text and
  click. Dot reads exactly what you chose.
• Right-click selected text and choose "Read selection with Dot".
• A clean, full-screen reader opens over the page. Press Space to play or pause.

Designed for comfortable reading:
• A fixed focal point with the recognition letter highlighted, so your eyes stay
  still. Words snap into place rather than scrolling past.
• A faint preview of the upcoming words for context, with adjustable opacity.
• Adjustable speed (120 to 700 wpm), focal position, and a gentle ramp-up so you
  ease into pace.
• Sentence peek: hold P to see the full current sentence, then carry on.
• Your settings are remembered between reads.

Private by design:
• No accounts, no analytics, no tracking.
• The text you read is processed locally in your browser and never leaves your
  device.
• Dot only accesses a page when you ask it to. It requests no broad permissions
  and does not run in the background.
