Gastly is a browser extension application created to provide users with useful price information for using Ethereum at any time. You just install it and it works in the background for you and without requiring anything from you. 

It delivers you fresh Ethereum gas price and spot price information in the background to calculate fee estimates for doing various popular actions on-chain in your fiat currency of choice. At the click of a button, a little window can be opened up in your browser and you can know what doing something at any given time would cost -- all without doing unnecessary tasks like opening and unlocking your wallet, going to a DeFi protocol's interface, connecting your wallet to it, and eventually getting an estimate for what something will cost to do (and at that point, you already feel like you went through all the effort so you do the transaction anyways even if the price isn't the best).

In the most simplest way that can be explained, Gastly gives you insight into what doing something on chain will cost (quoted in currencies you practically use in your life every day), without needing your wallet or checking multiple sources. Its informative and a step to make your life easier before making a decision to send a transaction to Ethereum.

Some popular use cases include:
- Simply checking ETH spot prices against fiat currencies
- Seeing what congestion is like on chain (often a signal of a huge impact event and effect on spot price)
- Checking what the cost to use a bridge will cost (values in ETH and fiat)
