About

**Tab Runner** helps you open multiple URLs in the background without interrupting your current tab.

It is built for repeatable browsing workflows where you want to save a script once and run it again later with the same timing and URL rules.

## What Tab Runner does

- Create and save multiple scripts
- Open links in the background with a configurable delay
- Use either a manual URL list or a template-based URL loop
- Generate URLs with `{year}` or `{i}` placeholders
- Preview generated URLs before running
- Reorder saved scripts with drag and drop
- Run or stop a script directly from the extension
- Reuse the same tab or rotate URLs across new tabs
- Control how many URLs open in each tab
- Enable optional mobile emulation
- Apply optional header profiles
- Keep the same workflow across Firefox, Chrome, and Edge

## Script types

### Template Loop

Use a URL template with placeholders such as `{year}` or `{i}`, then define:

- Start
- End
- Step

This is useful for repeated searches, archive browsing, and structured URL patterns.

### URL List

Paste one URL per line to create a fixed queue of pages to open.

This is useful for research tasks, review queues, and saved groups of links.

## Tab reuse options

Each script can control how tabs are reused:

- `0` = always reuse the same extension-opened tab
- `1` = open each URL in its own new tab
- `2` or higher = reuse each tab for that many URLs, then open a new tab

This makes it possible to keep tab counts under control while still working through large URL sets.

## Typical use cases

- Repeating searches across multiple years
- Opening research pages in the background
- Running saved batches of links
- Automating structured browsing tasks
- Testing pages with mobile emulation enabled

## Quick start

1. Open the extension
2. Create a new script
3. Choose **Template Loop** or **URL List**
4. Set the delay and tab reuse behavior
5. Save the script
6. Click **Play** to run it
7. Click **Stop** to end the run at any time

## Notes

Tab Runner opens URLs that **you define** and stores your saved scripts locally in the browser for reuse.
