Persona helps you vary your writing style across different contexts using AI-powered personas that run entirely in your browser. By transforming how you write while preserving what you say, Persona reduces the risk of cross-platform writing style linkage.

### Why Writing Style Matters

Recent research shows that large language models can link anonymous posts to real identities by analyzing writing patterns—sentence structure, vocabulary preferences, punctuation habits, and stylistic tics that remain consistent even when you're trying to stay anonymous. Persona addresses this by rewriting your text in different personas, making it harder to connect posts across platforms.

### How It Works

1. **Choose a Persona**: Select from 7 built-in personas (Academic Scholar, Casual Teen, Business Professional, Creative Storyteller, Minimalist, Verbose Elaborator, Tech Enthusiast) or create your own custom persona with specific style instructions.

2. **Transform Text**: Paste or type your text. Persona's local AI model rewrites it according to your selected persona's style while preserving your core message.

3. **Review Quality Metrics**: See divergence scores showing how different the output is from your input, plus risk assessments detecting any remaining identifiable patterns.

4. **Copy or Save**: Copy transformed text to clipboard or save as a draft for later refinement.

### Privacy-First Architecture

- **100% Local Processing**: After initial model download, everything runs offline in your browser using WebAssembly and WebGPU acceleration. No API calls, no analytics, no data collection.
  
- **Pre-processing Redaction**: Direct identifiers (emails, phone numbers, SSNs, IPs, etc.) are automatically redacted before text reaches the transformation model.

- **Multi-tier Risk Assessment**: Output is scanned for 25+ patterns across three risk tiers (direct identifiers, quasi-identifiers, soft signals) with combination amplifiers that detect clustering.

- **Quality-Controlled Iteration**: If initial output is too similar to input (< 70% divergence), the system automatically retries with stronger transformation prompts up to 3 rounds.
