SaveToMD turns every LinkedIn post into a clean markdown file with one click.

— Hover any post on linkedin.com and a small "Save as MD" button appears next to the three-dots menu.
— Click it. The post is written to your Downloads folder as a .md file with YAML frontmatter (author, URL, date, engagement, media, hashtags).
— Or press Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + S to save the post you're hovering — no mouse needed.

WHAT GETS CAPTURED
• Author name, profile URL, and headline
• Full post body (including text hidden behind "see more")
• Posted-at timestamp
• Engagement counts at capture time (reactions, comments, reposts)
• Media URLs — images, videos, and document-carousel slides
• Hashtags, written into the file's tags: frontmatter
• Repost chain — original author + reposter both recorded

WHAT YOU CAN CONFIGURE
• Filename template with {date}, {author}, {slug}, {post-id} tokens
• Subfolder under Downloads (default: SaveToMD/<author>/<date>-<slug>.md)
• Hover-only or always-visible button
• Save to file OR copy markdown to clipboard
• Toggle engagement metrics on/off

PRIVACY
SaveToMD makes zero network requests of its own. There is no server, no account, no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party SDKs. Your settings are stored locally in your browser. Posts you save go straight to your local Downloads folder. That's it.

• storage — to persist your six preferences on your device
• downloads — to write the markdown file to your Downloads folder
• access to linkedin.com — the script that reads post content only runs on LinkedIn

WHY MARKDOWN
Markdown is durable, plain-text, and works with every note app worth using — Obsidian, Bear, Logseq, VS Code, Notion (via import), or just a folder full of files. Build a personal library of the posts that taught you something, without depending on LinkedIn's UI to find them later.
