    description
Too many tabs? TabAutopilot fixes that — automatically.

It reads your tab titles and organizes them into smart groups by what you're actually working on. A localhost tab called "Investment Dashboard" goes into an Investment group — not a Dev group. Unused research tabs from yesterday get collapsed out of the way. Duplicates get flagged instantly.

No clicking. No dragging. No manual sorting. Just open tabs like you normally do.

    SMART GROUPING
TabAutopilot uses Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano AI to understand your tabs by context, not just domain. Groups get meaningful names like "Vue Dev" instead of "github". Works without AI too — a fast rule-based engine with 45+ friendly site names handles most tabs instantly.

    AUTO-LEARNING
Move a tab to a different group and TabAutopilot remembers. Next time, it groups that site correctly. Your corrections always override AI. It gets smarter the more you use it.

    TAB SNOOZE
Don't need a tab right now? Snooze it. Pick a preset time (1 hour, tomorrow 9am, next Monday) or set a custom time. The tab closes and automatically reopens when the timer fires. Snooze entire groups at once. Snoozed tabs survive browser restarts.

    DUPLICATE DETECTION
See a badge on the icon showing how many duplicate tabs you have. One click closes them all. Smart matching strips tracking parameters so example.com and example.com?utm_source=twitter count as the same tab.

    TAB HIBERNATION
Inactive tabs eating your RAM? TabAutopilot discards idle tabs to free memory — up to 95% savings per tab. They stay in your tab bar and reload when you click them. Pinned tabs and tabs playing audio are never touched.

    WORKSPACES
Save your entire tab session — including group names, colors, and layout. Restore it tomorrow or next week. Switch between workspaces like switching desks. Everything is preserved.

    ACTIVITY DASHBOARD
See your browsing patterns: top domains, category breakdown, memory savings, activity levels. 30-day history chart shows your impact over time.

    UNDO EVERYTHING
Accidentally closed a group? Regrouped the wrong tabs? Hit Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z) to undo. Last 10 actions are always recoverable.

    KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS
    Alt+G — Auto-group all tabs
Alt+D — Close all duplicate tabs
    Alt+S — Save current workspace
    Cmd/Ctrl+Z — Undo last action

    RIGHT-CLICK MENU
Right-click any page to move it to a group, hibernate its group, save as workspace, or close duplicates.

    100% PRIVATE
TabAutopilot processes everything on your device. The AI runs locally through Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano. No account. No server. No analytics. No tracking. Your browsing data never leaves your browser — period.

    WORKS ON
    Chrome 120+ for full functionality
Chrome 127+ for AI features (older versions use rule-based grouping — still works great)

    PERFECT FOR
    • Developers with 30 Stack Overflow tabs open
    • Freelancers juggling multiple client projects
    • Researchers managing dozens of reference tabs
    • ADHD users who struggle with tab overload
    • Anyone who's ever said "I have too many tabs"

    Too many tabs open?
TabAutopilot organizes them for you — snooze tabs for later, hibernate inactive ones to reduce memory usage, close duplicates, and keep everything sorted with smart tab groups.
Everything runs 100% on your device with zero data sent to any server.
Whether you have 20 tabs or 200, your browser stays clean without any effort.

    🗂️ SMART TAB GROUPING
TabAutopilot understands what each tab is about by reading the page title, not just the domain name. A localhost page titled "Investment Dashboard" goes into an Investment group, not a Dev group.

✦ One click to organize all open tabs instantly
✦ Turn on auto-grouping and new tabs are sorted as you browse
✦ Choose between domain-based grouping or AI-powered topic grouping
✦ Groups get meaningful names like "Vue Dev" or "Social Media" instead of raw URLs
✦ If a group already exists, new tabs merge into it automatically
✦ 45+ popular sites get friendly names — Google Translate shows as "Translate", not "translate.google"

All AI runs on your device. Nothing is sent to any server.

    ⚡ INSTANT TAB JOINING
Open a new social media site while a Social group is already open? It joins the group instantly. TabAutopilot recognizes the category and adds it — no clicks needed. This works across all 12 categories. Shopping, Development, News — new tabs find their group on their own.

    📋 250+ DOMAIN RULES
TabAutopilot ships with 250+ curated rules across 12 categories including Development, Social, Work, Shopping, Entertainment, News, Finance, Education, Research, Travel, Health, and Reference. Grouping works right out of the box.

You can customize everything from the Rules tab:
✦ Add your own rules — map any domain to any category
✦ Edit or delete existing rules
✦ Sort by domain name or category
✦ Filter to show just one category
    ✦ Search by domain name
    ✦ Reset to defaults anytime

    🧠 AUTO-LEARNING
Turn on "Learn grouping from activity" and TabAutopilot starts picking up your habits. Move a tab to a different group and it remembers your choice. Next time you open any page on that domain, it goes to the right group automatically. Your corrections always take priority.

Learning is off by default — you opt in when ready. You can review and delete any learned rule from the Rules tab.

    ⏰ TAB SNOOZE
Need a tab later but not now? Snooze it. The tab closes and reopens automatically at the time you pick.

✦ Click the clock icon on any tab to snooze it
✦ Presets: 1 hour, 3 hours, or next Monday
✦ Or pick any custom date and time
✦ Snooze entire groups at once — they reopen with original name and color
✦ Snoozed tabs survive browser restarts
✦ Restore early or cancel anytime

    😴 TAB HIBERNATION
Each Chrome tab eats 50–300 MB of memory. TabAutopilot works as a modern tab suspender — hibernating inactive tabs to free up memory while keeping them visible in your tab bar. A safe alternative to The Great Suspender, built for Manifest V3.

    ✦ Set a timeout: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours
✦ Inactive tabs are hibernated automatically
✦ Click a hibernated tab to reload it instantly
✦ Pinned tabs and tabs playing audio are never touched
✦ Hibernating 30 of 50 tabs can free 3–6 GB of RAM

    🔍 DUPLICATE DETECTION
Real-time badge on the extension icon shows your duplicate count. Close them all with one click. Smart matching ignores tracking parameters to catch true duplicates. You can also turn on auto-close so duplicates are removed the moment they open.

    💾 WORKSPACES
Save your entire browser state — tabs, groups, colors, everything — as a named workspace. TabAutopilot includes a built-in session manager: restore or switch between workspaces with one click. Groups are fully preserved including collapsed state. Unlimited workspaces, completely free.

    🔄 CRASH RECOVERY
Your session is saved automatically every 5 minutes and on every tab change. If Chrome crashes or your computer restarts unexpectedly, a recovery banner lets you bring everything back with one click.

    📊 ACTIVITY DASHBOARD
See your browsing stats right inside the Workspaces view:
✦ Memory saved by hibernation (MB/GB)
    ✦ 30-day savings chart
✦ Top domains by tab count
✦ Category breakdown across your tabs
✦ Activity levels for every tab

    🔎 TAB SORTING AND SEARCH
