Crimson Haven Companion 🦇

A little companion for crimsonhaven. It lets the site play its sources straight
from your browser — so the stream flows directly to you, with no backend sitting
in the path.

That's the whole idea: your browser does the fetching and playing locally, the
site's server stays out of the way, and playback just works.


WHAT IT DOES

- Lets crimsonhaven load and play sources directly in your browser.
- Handles the little cross-origin and header details that browsers normally block,
  so players and streams start smoothly instead of stalling.
- Keeps the heavy lifting on your machine — bytes go from the source to your
  player, not through a middle server.


PRIVACY FIRST

- No accounts, no tracking, no analytics, no ads.
- The extension holds no secrets and phones nothing home.
- It only ever activates on crimsonhaven (and your own localhost, for self-hosters).
  It is not a general web tool and does nothing on other sites.
- Everything happens locally in your browser.


YOU'RE IN CONTROL

- One button. Click the toolbar icon to switch the companion on or off anytime.
- It starts OFF. The first time you switch it on, your browser asks for permission —
  nothing runs until you say yes.
- Turn it off whenever you like; the choice sticks. Remove the permission from
  chrome://extensions and the companion powers down on its own.


ABOUT THE PERMISSIONS

The companion asks for site access only when you enable it (not at install), so a
fresh install adds no scary warnings. It needs that access to fetch and play
sources on your behalf — that's the core of what makes local, backend-free
playback possible. If you never switch it on, it never asks.


WHO IT'S FOR

Anyone who uses crimsonhaven and wants the smoothest possible playback — including
self-hosters running their own instance. Install it, flip it on, and let your
browser do the rest.
