  HOW IT WORKS
  
  Three ways to check any image:
  • Hover Mode — hover over any image and click the Investigate button that appears
  • Ctrl+Click — hold Ctrl (or ⌘ on Mac) and click any image for an instant result
  • Page Scan — open the Faux Spy popup and check every image on the page at once
  
  You get a confidence score alongside each result. The difference between 94% "Real Photo" and 54% "Real Photo" is meaningful — Faux Spy shows you both so you can judge for yourself.
  
  WHAT IT DETECTS
  
  Faux Spy classifies images into five categories:
  • Real Photo — an authentic photograph
  • AI Photo — photorealistic AI-generated image
  • AI Art — stylized AI-generated artwork
  • Digital Art — CGI, renders, heavily edited photos
  • Inconclusive — ambiguous signal (common with small compressed thumbnails)
  
  Detection covers images from today's AI generation tools and updates as new ones come out.

  Faux Spy runs on any page in Chrome — social media, news sites, dating apps, job boards, anywhere you can see an image in your browser. It handles click interception on platforms that try to block right-click, so the Investigate button works reliably wherever you need it.

  We only see the URL of the image you actively click to investigate. No images are stored on our servers. No browsing history is collected. Results stay on your device.
