About
■ Tired of fighting with text selection? • Selecting text on a webpage doesn't quite work the way you want • Buttons and links — clicking them triggers the action instead of letting you copy the text • Your selection runs into the wrong area mid-paragraph, and you have to start over • Copied text comes with unwanted fonts, colors, and links, and you end up reformatting after pasting Text Quick Focus & Plain Copy is a quietly useful tool that solves both at once: hard-to-select web text, and the formatting cleanup after pasting. ■ How it works 1. Click the toolbar icon to turn it ON (an "ON" badge appears). 2. Hover over any text element — it gets highlighted with a blue outline. 3. Click once — the whole element is selected. 4. Click the same element again — the text is copied to your clipboard as plain text, and a small "Copied!" toast appears. 5. Click the icon again to turn it OFF and return to normal browsing. You can also press Cmd+C / Ctrl+C after the first click — the result will still be plain text. ■ What makes it useful • One-click ON/OFF from the toolbar — no shortcuts to memorize. • Per-tab toggle — only affects the tab where you turned it on; other tabs behave normally. • Smart "smallest unit" detection — selects exactly the paragraph (<p>), list item (<li>), or other text-containing element you intended. • Works on link-style buttons too — including <input type="button" value="Read more"> and <button> elements. • Zero data collection — no tracking, no ads, no external servers. Everything runs in your browser. ■ Privacy & Permissions • Text Quick Focus & Plain Copy does not collect, store, or transmit your browsing history, page content, or any input. Everything runs locally in your browser. • activeTab — applies the feature only to the tab where you clicked the toolbar icon. • Runs on all sites (<all_urls>) — this is a general-purpose tool meant to work on any website, so it cannot be limited to specific domains. No page content is sent anywhere.
