Three filter strengths (TLD only / known domains / keyword matching), one-click per domain, channel, or subreddit blocking with inline "Show anyway", Google Images and YouTube tile support, language filtering on YouTube, per engine on/off and strength controls, snooze, custom whitelist/blacklist, bulk import, optional Geo-IP detection (off by default), optional Current site info card showing the active tab's country, city, and hosting provider (off by default), export and import as JSON, optional cross device sync, and stats by country, domain, channel, and source with Today / 7 day / 30 day / all time views.

Everything runs locally. No browsing history, queries, or identifiers leave your device. If you enable Geo-IP detection or Current site info, only the bare domain of the page you visit is sent to ip-api.com, cached for 24 hours. If you enable cross device sync, only your preferences are mirrored through Chrome's built-in sync.

GeoBlock quietly hides content from the countries you pick, across search engines, video sites, social feeds, news apps, and shopping sites.

Save separate setups for Work, Personal, or Research, each with its own list of countries and rules. Choose how strict the filter is, or set different rules for specific sites. Block any site, channel, page, or account with one click, and just as easily show it again. Right-click any result to block it, or use a keyboard shortcut. Works on images and videos too. Filter by language on video sites. Turn filtering on or off for each site, snooze it for an hour, keep your own allow and block lists, import lists in bulk, and export everything as a file.

Optional extras (all off by default): look up a site's country by IP, block whole hosting providers, show a small label next to results from state-funded media, see the current site's country and city, and sync your settings across devices.

Stats break down what's been blocked by country, source, and site, with Today, 7-day, 30-day, and all-time views.

Everything runs on your device. Your browsing history, searches, and personal info never leave your computer. The only thing that ever leaves, if you turn on the IP or current-site features, is the website's address, sent to ip-api.com and remembered for a day. Cross-device sync only shares your settings.

GeoBlock lets you take control of your Google Search results by filtering out content from specific countries. Whether you want to reduce irrelevant regional spam, focus on local content, or block specific territories entirely, GeoBlock works silently in the background.

Country-based filtering
Choose from 56 countries, organised by region. Select individual countries or entire regions at once. Selected countries appear as removable tags so you always know what's active.

Three filter strengths
Lenient filters by country-code TLD only (e.g. .no, .de) — fast with minimal false positives. Moderate adds blocking of well-known country-specific domains (news outlets, banks, government sites). Strict adds keyword matching in domain names for maximum coverage.

Snooze
Temporarily pause all filtering for 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 3 hours without changing your settings. A countdown timer shows in the header. Filtering resumes automatically when the timer expires, even if the popup is closed.

Per-site controls on every result
A subtle block button appears on hover for every search result. One click blacklists that domain without opening the settings panel. Blocked results show an inline "Show anyway" and "Always allow" option so you never permanently lose access to something you need.

Google Images filtering
Country filtering extends to Google Images search results. Blocked thumbnails are greyed out with a country label. Click to reveal any image individually.

Optional Geo-IP detection
Enable enhanced detection to catch sites that don't use country-specific TLDs. Powered by ip-api.com, with results cached locally for 24 hours. Disabled by default. Only domain names are ever sent, no URLs or personal data.

Whitelist and blacklist
Maintain custom per-domain override lists. Whitelisted domains always appear regardless of country rules. Blacklisted domains are always hidden. Paste a full URL and GeoBlock strips it to the hostname automatically.

Export and import settings
Back up your full configuration to a JSON file and restore it on any device in one click.

Statistics
Track how many results have been filtered, broken down by country and domain.

Privacy
All filtering runs locally in your browser. No browsing history, search queries, or personal identifiers are ever collected or transmitted. The optional Geo-IP feature sends only bare domain names (e.g. example.com) to ip-api.com. Full privacy policy at pauloemanuel.com/geoblock.

GeoBlock quietly hides content from the countries you pick, across search engines, video sites, social feeds, news apps, and shopping sites.

Save separate setups for Work, Personal, or Research, each with its own list of countries and rules. Choose how strict the filter is, or set different rules for specific sites. Block any site, channel, page, or account with one click, and just as easily show it again. Right-click any result to block it, or use a keyboard shortcut. Works on images and videos too. Filter by language on video sites. Turn filtering on or off for each site, snooze it for an hour, keep your own allow and block lists, import lists in bulk, and export everything as a file.

Optional extras (all off by default): look up a site's country by IP, block whole hosting providers, show a small label next to results from state-funded media, see the current site's country and city, and sync your settings across devices.

Stats break down what's been blocked by country, source, and site, with Today, 7-day, 30-day, and all-time views.

Everything runs on your device. Your browsing history, searches, and personal info never leave your computer. The only thing that ever leaves, if you turn on the IP or current-site features, is the website's address, sent to ip-api.com and remembered for a day. Cross-device sync only shares your settings.
