About
Tab Organizer groups your open tabs by what you are doing with them, not what they are about. Most tab managers sort by topic: News, Shopping, Sports, Finance. That works for casual browsing. It does not work for working. When you have 80 tabs open, you do not have 80 topics. You have a few intentions: things to do, things you are actively building, things you are researching, things you keep open as reference. Tab Organizer uses six intent-based categories: TODO: pull requests to review, forms to fill, emails to action, tickets assigned to you Active: what you are currently building or writing in (Figma, Google Docs, Notion, AI chats) Research: multiple tabs converging on one question Reference: docs and dashboards you want quick access to Inbox: recent tabs that have not matched a rule yet Parked: tabs you have not touched in seven or more days Categorization runs on URL pattern matching, completely on your device. No AI calls, no remote API, no token costs, ever. KEY FEATURES One-click "Organize now" to group all open tabs Auto-organize toggle: groups every new tab the moment you open it Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) for instant fuzzy search across all tabs in all windows Merge windows in one click, with duplicate removal and a 5-minute undo Consolidate duplicate tab groups within a window Full customization: edit category names, colors, and URL patterns, or add your own categories Light and dark mode follows your system settings PRIVACY Tab Organizer collects no data. Nothing leaves your browser. All settings, rules, and tab metadata stay in chrome.storage.local on your machine. There is no server. There is no telemetry. There is no analytics. The extension makes zero network requests to any external service. WHO IS IT FOR People who keep 30 or more tabs open across multiple windows. Engineers, designers, founders, researchers, and writers whose browser is part of their working memory. GETTING STARTED Install, click the toolbar icon, hit "Organize now". That is it. Open settings to customize categories or add your own URL patterns.
