  Claude doesn't know what time it is.
  Other major AI assistants — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini — already include the current time by default. Claude doesn't. So any prompt that depends on "now" — scheduling, deadlines, time zones, market hours, "how long until..." — gets a guess or a refusal.

  WHAT IT DOES
  Lux Time is a time-awareness utility for Claude users. Three features, all about time, all in a single popup.
  
  TIME CONTEXT FOR CLAUDE
  Lux Time automatically adds your current local time and timezone to every prompt you send on claude.ai. No copy-paste. No toggling. You ask. Claude has the time it needs to answer.
  Without Lux Time:
  You: "What's a good time to email a London client?"
  Claude: "I don't know what time it is for you."
  With Lux Time:
  You: "What's a good time to email a London client?"
  Claude: "It's 5:42pm in Sydney, so 8:42am in London — a perfect window before they break for lunch."
  LAP TIMER
  A built-in stopwatch with start, lap, and reset. Useful for timing builds, runs, focus blocks, or anything you'd otherwise reach for a separate app to time. Lives in the popup, no extra window.
  ALARMS
  Set a local alarm with an optional label. When the time hits, Chrome shows a desktop notification. Useful for one-off reminders while you're in Claude — "ping me when the standup starts" or "5pm: leave for the gym."

  HOW IT WORKS
  Lux Time provides Claude with your local time the same way Claude already reads your message: by including it alongside your prompt. You see your message normally. Claude receives the time as added context.

  Lux Time only runs on claude.ai. It does not access, read, or modify any other website.
  It does not:

  Your licence key, alarm settings, and timer state are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. Your activity stays on your machine.

  HONEST POSITIONING
  Lux Time exists because Claude is currently the only major AI chat assistant that does not include the current time by default. If Anthropic adds native time context to Claude, Lux Time's first feature becomes redundant — the lap timer and alarms remain useful, but the headline pitch goes away.
