About
Overview Essential form recovery for the web. Locally saves form data as you type and restores it after reloads, crashes, or accidental tab loss. Stop losing your work mid-sentence. Form Goblin quietly saves what you type, so if a page refreshes, a tab crashes, or a session expires, your draft can still be there when you come back. It works locally in your browser and does not require an account for core draft recovery. Key Features Automatic draft saving for text inputs, text areas, select fields, content editable areas, and many standard form controls. Local-first recovery that stores drafts in your browser for quick restore after refreshes and crashes. Auto-restore support for empty fields so you can continue where you left off. Lightweight popup controls to enable or disable the extension on the current site, manage ignored domains, and clear saved data. File upload reminders that remember filenames, even though browsers do not allow extensions to restore the actual selected file automatically. Optional save-status chip so you can see when a field was saved. How It Works Form Goblin follows a local-first design. Drafts are saved in your browser using extension storage, so the core extension works without creating an account or connecting to a remote service. Sensitive fields such as passwords and common payment-related inputs are ignored. The extension is designed to recover user-written content, not credentials or hidden secrets. FAQ What is Form Goblin used for? Form Goblin is a browser extension that automatically saves what you type into supported form fields and restores it later if the page reloads, crashes, or closes unexpectedly. Does Form Goblin send my data to a server? Core draft saving is local-first and works in your browser without requiring an account. Your Web Store privacy disclosures and privacy policy should describe exactly how your build handles stored data. Does it save passwords or payment details? No — it is designed to skip sensitive fields such as passwords and common payment-related inputs. Does it work on local HTML test files? Yes, if Chrome’s “Allow access to file URLs” setting is enabled for the extension. Chrome requires that setting for extensions to run on local file:// pages. Can it restore file uploads automatically? No. Browsers restrict scripts from re-attaching local files automatically, so Form Goblin can only remind you which file was selected before. Will my drafts survive a crash or restart? Drafts saved in extension storage can persist across reloads, crashes, and browser restarts unless they are manually cleared.
