About

Time Zone Converter automatically detects time mentions on web pages and shows the converted time in your local timezone — right next to the original text.

✦ HOW IT WORKS
When you browse pages like X (Twitter), news sites, or forums, the extension scans for time expressions such as "9PM ET", "3:00 PM PST", "15:00 GMT", or "9PM London time", and displays a small blue badge with the equivalent time in your timezone.

✦ KEY FEATURES

• DST-Aware Conversion
Uses the browser's built-in IANA timezone database (via the Intl API) to handle Daylight Saving Time transitions automatically. No outdated offset tables — the conversion is always correct for the specific date.

• Smart Date Inference
Reads the post's timestamp from the page (e.g. the tweet's datetime on X) and understands relative date words like "tomorrow", "tonight", "next Monday". If a tweet posted on March 31 says "Tomorrow night at 9PM ET", the extension correctly resolves this to April 1, 9PM ET.

• Inline Badge Display
Converted times appear as compact blue badges right after the original time text. Hover for details including DST status and timezone info.

• Same Timezone Skip
If your local timezone matches the source timezone, no badge is shown — keeping the page clean.

• Dynamic Content Support
Works with single-page apps (SPAs) like X/Twitter. New content loaded via infinite scroll is automatically scanned.

✦ SUPPORTED FORMATS
• 12-hour: 9PM ET, 3:00 PM PST, 11:45am Pacific Time
• 24-hour: 15:00 GMT, 09:15 CET
• City names: 9PM London time, 3PM Tokyo time
• 50+ timezone abbreviations: ET, EST, EDT, PT, PST, PDT, GMT, BST, CET, CEST, JST, KST, AEST, and more

✦ PRIVACY
This extension runs entirely locally. No data is sent to any server. No analytics, no tracking.
