Attar is an AI summarizer and video-to-notes tool that transcribes short videos, breaks down the content, and saves everything as plain local Markdown you own — video to notes, article to notes — ready for Obsidian or any Markdown vault. Stop copy-pasting transcripts; build a personal knowledge base instead.

• Distill any page or video: one click captures the current tab and distills it into a structured note — summary, core claims, reusable insights, caveats, tags, plus a five-dimension content breakdown (topic angle / hook / structure / peak points / engagement CTA).

• Short-video transcript + teardown: for Douyin / TikTok videos, Attar transcribes the spoken audio and optionally reads the key frames — catching on-screen links, product names and text the narration skips — to surface how a video is shot as a reusable "how it's filmed" note.

• Web clipper, but smart: paste a link or click on any article and get a clean, structured Markdown note instead of a raw dump — great for research and reference.

• Sign in with your email: a 6-digit code, no password. Content is distilled on our hosted service, so there's nothing to install and no local setup.

• Local Markdown first: your notes are .md files on your disk — no lock-in, no cloud note library, exportable to Obsidian, Logseq, Notion or any Markdown app.

• Simple, count-based plans: a free monthly quota to start; an optional annual membership or a top-up pack when you need more. One distillation = one count — no per-minute metering. Payment is handled by trusted providers (card overseas, WeChat/Alipay in China); we never store your card details.

Privacy & data — please read before installing
Attar is experimental and currently distributed unlisted. Content you choose to distill (page text, and for videos the media you select) is processed on our hosted service; transient audio/video is deleted after processing. Your browser cookies and login state are never uploaded. We keep your account email and usage counts to enforce quota. Purchases are handled by third-party payment providers — we store only order metadata, never your card number.

We also collect anonymous usage analytics — actions, timestamps and result codes only (e.g. "distill succeeded", "capture failed") — to improve the product. This never includes your page text, transcripts, note content, links, cookies or keys, and you can turn it off anytime in the extension's Setup. You can delete your account and associated data from Setup at any time.
