Simply Write is a clean, focused text editor built for people who want to write without distractions. No accounts, no syncing, no clutter — just an open page and your words.

✦ FEATURES

- Multiple Documents — save, load, rename and delete documents. Everything is stored locally in your browser.
- Auto-Save — every keystroke is saved automatically. A status indicator shows you the current save state.
- Focus Mode — highlights only the paragraph you're writing and dims everything else.
- Typewriter Mode — keeps your active line vertically centered so your eyes never move.
- Fullscreen — hides all UI chrome for a completely clean writing environment.
- 10 Themes — Default, Sepia, Midnight, Soft, Ocean, Forest, Coffee, Lavender, Lofi, Nordic.
- 7 Fonts — Lora, Caveat, Bitter, Crimson Pro, Source Serif, Inter, Source Sans.
- Typography Controls — adjust font size, line height, and choose from Novel, Article, or Default presets.
- Background Patterns — None, Dots, Lines, or Grid.
- Rich Text Toolbar — Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, Link, Headings (H1–H3), Bullet List, Numbered List, Blockquote.
- Markdown Shortcuts — type # / ## / ### / - / 1. / > and press Space to instantly format.
- Find & Replace — search with live match count, navigate matches, replace one or all.
- Export — Plain Text, HTML, or Markdown. Copy to clipboard or save as .txt / .md file.
- Import — load any .txt or .md file directly into the editor.
- Print — a clean print stylesheet removes all UI elements automatically.
- Smart Paste — choose to keep or strip formatting whenever you paste content.

Simply Write collects zero data. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no network requests. Your writing never leaves your device. Documents are stored entirely in your browser's local storage.

✦ HOW IT WORKS

Click the Simply Write icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the editor in a full tab. If the tab is already open, it will be focused instead of duplicated. On first install, a welcome page with full documentation opens automatically.
