ContextLayer is a browser extension that turns your browser into a personal knowledge base. It lets you highlight text on any webpage, save pages to read later, and instantly search everything you have collected — all stored privately on your own device.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

- Highlight in color — Select any text on any page and pick a color to save it. Organize highlights with your own custom color palette.

- Save pages for later — Add any page to your reading list with one click and return to it when you are ready.

- Search everything — Run a full-text search across all your highlights, notes, and saved pages. Find something you read weeks ago in seconds.

- Page snapshots — When you save a page, ContextLayer keeps a copy of the article text so it stays searchable even if the original page goes offline.

- Customize your colors — Add, rename, reorder, and remove highlight colors. Choose how many appear in the toolbar, and restore defaults anytime.

- Multiple languages — Available in English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, and German.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

Your highlights, saved pages, and snapshots never leave your device. ContextLayer stores everything locally on your computer. There is no account required, no tracking, and no ads. Your reading data is never sold or shared.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Select text on any webpage and a color toolbar appears.
2. Click a color to highlight and save the text.
3. Open the Knowledge Base to search and review everything you have saved.

You can also right-click any page to save it to your reading list or to open your Knowledge Base.
