About

Screenshot & OCR is a browser productivity tool for researchers, developers, QA testers, designers, and operators who need to capture web content, mark it up, and pull text out of images without leaving Chrome.

Capture a selected area, the visible viewport, or a full page. Extract text from screenshots with local OCR, annotate pages with arrows, labels, shapes, blur, spotlight, QR, ruler, clock, and hostname tools, then save or copy the result for documentation, bug reports, research notes, and handoffs.

Key features:
- Selected-area screenshot capture
- Compare tabs
- Visible viewport capture
- Full-page screenshot capture
- Area-to-text OCR for selected page regions
- Local OCR powered by bundled Tesseract assets
- Post-OCR text processors with built-in transforms and regex cleanup steps
- Annotation overlay with basic and advanced markup tools
- Undo/redo support for annotation sessions
- Snapshot library with grid, list, and timeline views
- Auto-copy and download workflows
- Watermark and output customization settings
- Filename template support
- Keyboard shortcuts for frequent capture actions
- Context-menu shortcuts for capture and annotation workflows
- Local storage for snapshots and user preferences

Privacy-first: Screenshot processing, OCR, annotation, and text cleanup run locally in the browser. Snapshots and settings are stored in chrome.storage.local. The extension does not include analytics, ad injection, or browsing-history tracking. License status checks contact HForgeX only to verify subscription status.
