About

Potato Temporary Mail is a lightweight, privacy-first Chrome extension that gives you a disposable temporary email address with a single click. Protect your real inbox from spam, marketing emails, data breaches, and unwanted newsletters.

Why Use Potato Temporary Mail?

Every time you sign up for a service, download a resource, or test a platform, you're asked for your email address. That email can be sold, leaked, or flooded with spam for years. Potato Temporary Mail gives you a throwaway email that works instantly — no registration, no password, no commitment.

When you need a real email for an important account, keep using your personal inbox. But for everything else — trials, newsletters, free downloads, forum signups, one-time verifications — use a disposable address.

Features

One-Click Fill — Click the floating potato button next to any email field to instantly insert a temporary address.
Floating Import — A small button appears automatically beside email fields on every website you visit. Toggle it on/off anytime.
Built-in Inbox — View incoming emails through the inbox viewer directly from the extension popup.
Copy to Clipboard — Copy your temporary email address with one click.
Privacy First — No tracking, no personal data collection, no browsing history stored.
Lightweight — Under 40KB total. No impact on browsing performance.
Toggle Control — Enable or disable the floating button from the popup — instant, no page reload needed.
Cross-Session — Your temporary email persists across browser sessions until you replace it.

How It Works

1. Install the extension — it's ready immediately with no configuration.
2. Visit any website with an email input field (signup forms, registration pages, newsletter signups).
3. Click the floating button (a small upload/mail icon) next to the email field.
4. Your temporary email is inserted instantly — fill the rest of the form and submit.
5. View incoming emails by clicking the inbox card in the extension popup.
6. Toggle off anytime from the popup to hide floating buttons.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is this really free?
A: Yes, completely free. No hidden costs, no premium tiers.

Q: How long does the email last?
A: The email stays active as long as you keep using it. When you assign a new one, the old address and all its messages are deleted.

Q: Can I receive emails?
A: Yes! Click "Open Email Inbox" in the popup to view incoming messages.

Q: Does it work on every website?
A: It works on most websites with standard email input fields. Some sites with custom form handlers may not be compatible.

Q: Will this break any websites?
A: No. The extension only adds a small button next to email fields. It doesn't modify website behavior.

Q: What permissions does it need and why?
A:
- storage — to save your email address and preferences locally
- all_urls host permission — to detect email fields and show the floating button on any website you visit
- Access to collage.edu.pl — to fetch temporary email addresses from the server

Q: Is my data safe?
A: Yes. We collect no personal information. Your temporary email is stored only in your browser and on our server for the duration of its use. After you change it, the old data is deleted.
