About

Contexify — The page you're reading, ready for your agent.

Turn the page you're reading into clean Markdown for your AI coding agent. One click, full context, no struggle.

You already found the right documentation: the migration guide, the API reference, the changelog, the internal wiki page. Your agent still guesses, hallucinates old APIs, or cannot read the page at all.

That happens because agent web tools often fail on JavaScript-rendered documentation, authenticated pages, and sites buried in navigation, cookie banners, and layout noise. Even when a fetch works, you still copy, paste, and clean content by hand before the agent can use it reliably.

Contexify closes that gap. It captures the page you are looking at right now in Chrome and gives you a clean Markdown file in seconds you can attach to Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or any tool that accepts file context, with no account and no configuration.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Open the documentation or article you want your agent to see.
2. Click the Contexify icon in the toolbar.
3. Confirm the page title and URL in the popup.
4. Click Export as Markdown.
5. A .md file downloads to your computer. Drag it into your agent chat or attach it like any other file.
6. The extension reads the current tab only when you export, not your browsing history, not other tabs. Processing runs entirely in your browser. No signup, no sync required to export, no telemetry, and no page content sent to Contexify servers from the extension.

WHAT YOU GET IN EVERY EXPORT

Each file is structured for agents, not for bookmarking:

- Page title as the main heading
- Source URL and export timestamp as metadata at the top
- Body content converted to clean Markdown: headings, lists, tables, and fenced code blocks preserved where the page provides them
- Noise removed: navigation, footers, sidebars, cookie UI, and repeated chrome stripped using readability-focused extraction
- Works on content that is already rendered in the tab, including many client-side doc sites and pages you reached while logged in (using your existing session in the browser)
- Files are named automatically from the page title (for example upgrading-v5-to-v6.md), with a sensible fallback when no title is available.

A REAL WORKFLOW: LIBRARY MIGRATIONS AND VERSION-SPECIFIC DOCS

Picture migrating a package to a new major version. The official upgrade guide is on a modern docs site. Your agent keeps suggesting the old version patterns because it never truly saw the guide.

With Contexify you export the full migration page once, attach the Markdown file, and the agent works from your source of truth: the same page you validated in the browser.

The same pattern applies to framework upgrades, payment API webhooks, internal runbooks, design-system guidelines, and any situation where you know the URL but your agent does not.

PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS BY DESIGN

Contexify requests only what it needs:

activeTab — access the page you are exporting, when you click Export
scripting — extract readable content from that tab
downloads — save the Markdown file locally

There are no broad host permissions and no read-all-browsing-history access. The extension does not upload exported content as part of the export action. Your files stay on your machine unless you choose to move them elsewhere.

The page you're reading, ready for your agent.
