    description
Quick Summarize is a Chrome extension for summarizing web pages and YouTube videos in a clear and practical workflow.

It is designed for users who want to review articles, documentation, reports, announcements, and video content more efficiently inside the browser. Summaries are shown directly on the current page in a clean panel, so the main points can be checked without moving content into another tool.

It is especially useful for people who want to make better practical use of ChatGPT during everyday browsing. Instead of opening a separate chat, copying text manually, or spending time scanning long pages, you can start summarizing from the page you are already viewing and reduce the time needed to understand the content.

    Main features

    Simple ways to start
Start summarization from the toolbar, the right-click menu, or keyboard shortcuts.

    Keyboard shortcuts
    - Summarize current page: Ctrl+Shift+S
    - Open settings: Ctrl+Shift+O
    - On Mac: Command+Shift+S / Command+Shift+O

    Supported AI providers
Choose the provider that fits your workflow:
    - ChatGPT
    - OpenAI API
    - OpenRouter

OpenRouter can be used with a wide range of models, including Claude, Gemini, Llama, DeepSeek, and others.

    Web page and YouTube summaries
Summarize standard web pages, long-form articles, technical documentation, and YouTube videos directly in Chrome. Transcript-based handling is supported for YouTube, with fallback behavior when transcript data is limited.

    Streaming display
When supported by the selected provider, summaries can appear progressively while they are being generated.

    Prompt editing and prompt history
Adjust the system prompt, add custom instructions, and review prompt history when you want to reuse or refine a previous setup. Reset controls are also available from settings.

    25 output languages
Summaries can be generated in 25 major languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian.

    Readable interface
The panel is draggable and resizable, with Light, Dark, and Auto themes available. The interface is intentionally simple and focused on readability.

Your API key is stored in your own Chrome storage. ChatGPT Free can be used without entering an API key. If you choose OpenAI API or OpenRouter, you can manage your own provider and settings directly.
