  PDF to MD converts any PDF you have open in Chrome into a clean Markdown (.md) file — without sending a single byte to any server.
  
  HOW IT WORKS
  Open a PDF tab → click the extension icon → download the .md file. That's it.
  
  Powered by pdfplumber (Python) running inside Pyodide (WebAssembly) — the same conversion quality as a Python backend, but entirely local.

  FIRST LOAD
  Takes 5–8 seconds for Pyodide to initialise. Subsequent opens are instant (cached).

  PDF to MD turns the PDF you're viewing into a clean Markdown (.md) file with one click, entirely inside your browser. No uploads, no servers, no account — everything is converted locally on your device, so your files never leave your computer.

  How to use
  1. Open a PDF in a Chrome tab (online or a local file).
  2. Click the PDF to MD icon.
  3. Click "Convert to .md", then copy or download the result.
  For local file:// PDFs, turn on "Allow access to file URLs" on the extension's Details page.
  
  Privacy
  Your files are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded or shared. The only network request is fetching the PDF you already opened. No analytics, no tracking, no account.
  
  Limitations
  - Scanned or image-only PDFs produce no text (no OCR).
  - Images and vector diagrams are skipped.
  - Password-protected PDFs are not supported.
  
  Requires Chrome 116 or later. The first conversion takes a few seconds to get ready; later conversions are fast.
