About

Privacy Shield hides the page the instant you look away — so a passer-by in the office, café, or meeting room sees nothing but a blur. Your screen, your eyes only.

Your browser constantly shows things not meant for other eyes: emails, chats, bank accounts, dashboards, source code, HR documents. Every time you turn to talk to someone or step back to think, anyone nearby can read your screen. Locking the PC or switching tabs breaks your flow — Privacy Shield does it automatically, and lifts the cover the moment you're back.

WHEN IT SHIELDS
• Mouse cursor leaves the page
• Browser window loses focus
• No mouse or keyboard activity for a set time (5 s – 1 min)
• Manual hotkey Alt+Shift+P (customizable)
An optional grace period (2–30 s) ignores brief glances away, and a multi-monitor mode keeps all windows visible as long as any Chrome window has focus — then shields every screen at once when you leave.

CHOOSE YOUR DISGUISE
• Blur — soft, medium, or strong with dimming
• Pixelate — censored-video look
• Black overlay — everything disappears
• Frosted glass — translucent cover with a "Protected" badge
• Flip clock — the page becomes an elegant full-screen split-flap clock
• Blue screen — a convincing fake Windows crash screen
• Windows update — "Working on updates… Don't turn off your PC"
For blur and pixelate you can stack a color tint on top so even headlines are unreadable. A playful "no peeking" mascot appears while shielded (optional).

STAY IN CONTROL
• Peek mode: hold Alt to look through the shield, release to re-shield
• Whitelist or blacklist sites — one-click toggle for the current site in the popup
• Boss mode: double-tap Esc to jump to a safe page
• Pause for 30 min, 1 hour, or until tomorrow — with one-click resume
• Daily stats: how often and how long you were covered
• Full interface in English, German, and Arabic (RTL supported)

PRIVACY FIRST
Everything runs locally in your browser. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no network requests, no third-party code. Your settings stay in Chrome's own storage; nothing is ever sent anywhere.
