About

Auto-Scroll is a simple utility that automatically scrolls web pages. It provides a user-friendly interface to control scrolling behavior for reading articles, documentation, or long feeds.

Features:

Two Scroll Modes: Choose "Continuous" for a smooth, constant flow or "Step" for interval-based scrolling.

Adjustable Speed: Control the scrolling speed (pixels per second) using a precision slider.

Custom Step Intervals: Set the specific time delay between scrolls when using Step mode.

Smart Area Detection: Automatically identifies the main scrollable content on the page.

Reverse Scrolling: Option to scroll upwards instead of downwards.

Keyboard Shortcut: Toggle the auto-scroll on or off instantly using Alt+J (can be customized in chrome://extensions/shortcuts page)

Settings Auto-Save: Your speed, mode, and preferences are saved automatically for your next session.

Minimum Permissions: The extension requests only the absolute minimum permissions required to function.

Technical Note: This extension is made using Vanilla JS and does not rely on any external libraries, you can access the source code here: https://github.com/S4dnu112/Auto-Scroll

Automatic Light/Dark Mode: Adjusts based on your browser settings.

Usage Notes:

Local Files: To use this extension on local files (e.g., HTML files saved on your computer), you must manually enable access. Go to chrome://extensions, find Auto-Scroll, click "Details," and toggle on "Allow access to file URLs."

About PDF Files: This extension will not work on PDF files displayed within the browser. Browser security policies prevent extensions from running scripts inside the native PDF viewer.
