Salesforce API Name & Layout Manager
    Version 1.0.0 | March 2026
    ─────────────────────────────────────────

    WHAT'S NEW

      API Field Name Overlay
Toggle API names directly on any Salesforce Lightning record page.
No more switching between tabs or opening Setup to look up field names.
Red labels appear inline, next to every field label on the page.

      Layout Editor
Open any page layout directly from the extension popup.
Browse all layouts for the current SObject, inspect every field
section by section, and remove fields — all without touching Setup.
Changes are saved back to Salesforce via the Tooling API (v64).

      Auto Session Detection
No API keys to paste. Salesforce API Name & Layout Manager
      reads your active Salesforce session
automatically using browser cookies, supporting both Lightning
      (lightning.force.com) and Classic (my.salesforce.com) orgs.

      Persistent Toggle State
API name visibility is remembered across popup open/close cycles
using chrome.storage, so your preference sticks.

    SUPPORTED ORG TYPES
Developer Edition, Sandbox, Production — any org on Lightning Experience.

    PERMISSIONS USED
cookies — read Salesforce session ID (sid) for API calls
tabs — detect the active Salesforce tab
      storage — remember toggle state
activeTab — send messages to the Salesforce page

    KNOWN LIMITATIONS
      - Layout Editor requires navigating to a Lightning record page first
(the SObject is detected from the URL)
      - Adding new fields to a layout is not yet supported (remove only)
      - Classic UI is not supported for the Layout Editor

    COMING IN v1.1
      - Add fields to layout (drag and drop)
      - Search fields by API name
      - Multi-layout comparison view
