About

Open my files & apps gives you a single, always-available panel in Chrome to launch files, folders, and URLs you care about—without hunting through bookmarks or the file system every time.

What you can do

Build a simple list of shortcuts: documents, project folders, internal tools, meeting links, or anything you open often.
Open all runs every item in one go when you want to spin up a full “session” (for example, your daily set of apps and pages).
Open selection runs only the rows you’ve checked—handy when you want a smaller subset.
Add items with quick actions for file, folder, and URL. Reorder, rename, or remove entries anytime.
Floating panel

The panel opens as its own movable, resizable window, separate from a normal browser tab—so it feels more like a small desktop utility than a crowded web page.

Windows helper (optional, for files & folders)

Browsers can’t show the system’s native file or folder pickers by themselves. On Windows, you can connect a small local companion app (open source on GitHub) so you can browse and add real paths from your PC. URLs work without it.

The helper runs only on your machine to support those pickers and to open paths you already chose. It does not upload your file list to us.
One-time setup: after installing the extension, follow the short instructions in the extension panel (or the project’s user guide) to download and register the helper, then fully restart the browser once.
Privacy & your data

Your list is stored locally in the browser on your device (not on our servers—we don’t operate a cloud backend for this extension).
We don’t sell your data or use it for ads. A plain-language privacy summary is linked from the store listing.
Who it’s for

Knowledge workers, developers, and anyone who opens the same files, folders, and links every day and wants one click instead of ten.

Notes

File and folder features on Windows depend on the optional helper and a normal Windows setup.
URLs work with the extension alone.
The project lives and is documented at github.com/mapicallo/open-my-files-apps (installer, troubleshooting, and updates).
