About

This rare big cat is a Snow Leopard (Panthera uncia), a stunning inhabitant of the high mountains of Central Asia. Its thick, smoky-gray coat is covered in rosettes and spots of a darker gray to black, providing perfect camouflage in its harsh, rocky, and snowy environment. The broad face with light green or gray eyes conveys a sense of intense calm and focus. Its small, rounded ears help minimize heat loss, and the thick fur that covers its paws allows it to move easily over snow and rock. With a long, bushy tail, the snow leopard maintains excellent balance when climbing steep and treacherous terrain, and its tail also serves to keep it warm in frigid conditions. Its piercing gaze reflects the nature of an apex predator, silent and powerful in its icy kingdom.
