About

Notebook Organizer lets you sort your Google NotebookLM notebooks into folders. NotebookLM has no concept of folders, so the more notebooks you have, the harder they are to find. This extension adds a sidebar to the dashboard and lets you classify and filter notebooks into folders of your own.

Folders are virtual and live only inside the extension. It never creates, deletes, or modifies your NotebookLM notebooks — it only remembers which notebook you put in which folder, saved locally in your browser.

Features
- Sidebar folder list (All / Unfiled / each folder) with live counts
- Drag and drop notebooks into folders
- Multi-select and move in bulk (Shift-range and checkboxes)
- Right-click a card to "move to folder"
- Create, rename, delete, reorder, and recolor folders (preset palette + free color picker)
- Filter the dashboard down to the selected folder
- Folder-color stripe and a folder-name chip on each card
- Notebook list in the sidebar (with emoji; sort by title or date)
- Toggle the sidebar from the toolbar icon; drag to resize its width
- Back up your folder setup (export/import as JSON — restore after reinstalling or moving to a new PC)
- Dark mode support; UI auto-selects English or Japanese

Privacy
- Fully local. Your organization data never leaves the browser (no server calls, no analytics, no tracking).
- Bundles no third-party code and loads no remote code.
- Runs only on notebooklm.google.com; never on any other site.

How to use
1. Open your dashboard at notebooklm.google.com.
2. Click the Notebook Organizer toolbar icon to show the sidebar.
3. Create a folder with "+", then drag notebooks in or right-click to file them.
4. Click a folder in the sidebar to filter the dashboard to just that group.
