About

**Web Alias** is a lightweight, privacy-friendly extension that supercharges your browsing workflow. Stop digging through endless bookmark folders or relying on cluttered new-tab pages. With Web Alias, you can map your most-visited websites, specific repository branches, or long dashboards to short, memorable text aliases.

Once set up, just type `z` into your address bar, press the `Spacebar` or `Tab`, and type your alias to jump straight to your destination!

**✨ Key Features**
* **Lightning Fast Navigation:** Type `z` in the address bar to instantly resolve and launch your aliases.
* **Quick Suggestions:** See real-time dropdown suggestions as you type in the address bar.
* **Beautiful UI:** Manage all your aliases in a clean, modern popup interface.
* **Dark & Light Modes:** Fully supports your system's theme with a built-in toggle switch.
* **Import / Export:** Easily backup your aliases to a JSON file or sync them seamlessly between Firefox and Chrome.
* **Keyboard Shortcuts:** Use `Ctrl+Shift+S` (or `Cmd+Shift+S` on Mac) to quickly open the dashboard, and hit `Ctrl+N` to rapidly add a new alias.

**🛡️ Privacy First**
Web Alias works entirely offline and locally on your machine. It requires minimal permissions, contains no analytics, and does not collect or transmit a single byte of your personal data.

**How to use it:**
1. Open the Web Alias dashboard from your toolbar.
2. Add a new alias (e.g., set the alias `gh` to point to `https://github.com/my-profile`).
3. Focus your browser's address bar, type `z` and hit the `Spacebar`.
4. Type `gh` and press `Enter`. Boom—you're there!
