About

Why install getPitch
If you sing, teach vocals, jam along, or pick karaoke keys, you often guess the key or open extra sites. getPitch gives you key signature, how high the melody goes, tempo (BPM), and a practical singing key — while you stay on the same YouTube tab. No audio is uploaded; analysis runs locally in Chrome.

Reasons to install
- Save time — No hopping to separate tuner or chord sites; open the popup on the video you already have open.
- Sing smarter — Recommended key targets a comfortable peak around C5 (high C) and stays in common keys (≤ 3 sharps/flats).
- Clear feedback — Key confidence score, warning when the guess is uncertain, and silence handling so you are not stuck on stale readings.
- Privacy by design — All DSP runs on your device; no uploads, no telemetry.

What it does
- Key signature — Locks after ~15 seconds (Bellman–Budge chromagram + correlation); accidentals match staff notation.
- Highest note — Live note name (e.g. D5) plus solfège label (e.g. high Re).
- BPM — Onset-based estimate; stabilises after a few seconds.
- Recommended singing key — Picks among 14 practical keys with a ±3 semitone transpose slider.
- Extras — Confidence 0–100, low-confidence indicator, and friendly errors when audio is missing.

How to use
- Open a YouTube music video.
- Click the getPitch toolbar icon (or Alt+P / ⌘⇧P on Mac).
- Press Start analysis.
- Watch key, highest note, BPM, and recommended key update as the track plays.
