How it works:
1. Sign up at goscholar.ai and fill out your application profile once. We keep it for you.
2. Install ApplyAssist (this extension).
3. Visit any supported portal — a small banner appears top-right with a single Autofill button.
4. Click Autofill. We fill the form locally in your browser. You review, edit anything you want, then submit on the school's site as you normally would.

Why ApplyAssist is different:
• 484 hand-curated field selectors across the three biggest US portals — not regex guessing.
• Pre-flight checks catch missing fields before you submit (essay too short, recommender not invited, score below the school's floor).
• AI field-classification fallback. If a portal isn't on our supported list, our backend classifies its fields against your profile so autofill still works.
• Fact-checking on the long-form bits — essays, activity descriptions, resumes, SOPs are cross-checked against our admitted-applicant corpus and AI co-pilots before you submit, so you never second-guess what you sent.

What ApplyAssist will NOT do:
• Never reads form values back from the page (one-way: your profile → the form).
• Never sends portal page contents to GoScholar — only field names and labels, and only when you explicitly click Autofill.
• Never auto-fills without a click. The banner shows but values stay blank until you press Autofill.
• Never sees your password. Sign-in happens on goscholar.ai in a normal browser tab; ApplyAssist gets a one-hour session token that lives only in chrome.storage.local.
