About

Dexly is a Chrome side panel extension for developers who work with a local Codex setup.

It helps you turn what you see in the browser into an actionable coding task without manually copying page details into a prompt. Select elements from the current page, attach optional screenshots, choose a saved local workspace, write your instruction, and send the task directly to your local Codex app-server.

Dexly is designed for a focused browser-to-code workflow, not as a browser IDE or a generic AI chat tool.

What Dexly can do:
- Capture structured browser context from the active page
- Inspect and select one or more DOM elements
- Refine selections by moving to parent or child elements
- Attach full-page, section, or selected-element screenshots
- Send tasks to a saved local Codex workspace
- Show streamed responses and approval requests inside the side panel
- Keep recent local task history for continuity

How it works:
- You pick a saved workspace on your machine
- Dexly captures the page context you choose
- You write a prompt in the side panel
- Dexly sends the task to your local Codex app-server
- You review the live output and approvals in Chrome

Privacy and data handling:
- Dexly is local-first
- Browser page context, prompts, screenshots, workspace paths, and live coding workflow data stay on your device or in your local Codex workflow
- Dexly’s hosted service is used only for sign-in, billing, entitlements, and usage accounting

Requirements:
- A local Codex app-server
- A local workspace available on your machine
- Some account and usage features may require sign-in
