Changelog
- May 26, 2026description
Copy as Markdown 100% free, forever. No premium tier, no ads, no data collection. Select any content on a web page, press Ctrl+C / Cmd+C, and get clean Markdown instantly. No extra steps. Your regular copy shortcut becomes a Markdown converter. Unlike other "copy as markdown" extensions that only convert individual links or images, this one converts entire selections: paragraphs, tables, code blocks, nested lists, headings, and 50+ HTML element types. Also available via right-click menu or a custom keyboard shortcut you define. What makes this different: - Replace Ctrl+C / Cmd+C with Markdown copy (toggle on/off in popup) - Set your own custom keyboard shortcut directly in the popup (no chrome://extensions needed) - Full selection conversion (not just links or images) - Visual confirmation toast after every copy - Clean output: no base64 image blobs, no empty links, no extra whitespace - Minimal permissions (no tab access required) - Works instantly on install. No options pages, no setup. - 10 languages supported Perfect for: - Obsidian, Notion, and Markdown note-taking app users - Developers writing documentation - Bloggers and content creators - Anyone who works with Markdown regularly Supported formatting: - Headings - Bold, italic, strikethrough, highlighted text - Links (always full URLs, never broken relative paths) - Images with captions (responsive images supported) - Ordered and unordered lists (including nested and checklists) - Definition lists (term + description pairs) - Code blocks (with language detection) - Keyboard shortcuts and sample output - Inline quotes and citations - Blockquotes - Tables - Superscript and subscript - Math notation - Video and audio (linked with source URL) - CJK text (ruby annotations handled cleanly) - Horizontal rules - Automatically skips scripts, styles, and non-visible elements Privacy: - Zero data collection - No external network requests - No tracking or analytics - Runs entirely in your browser Built by Builder Wrench — free browser tools and AI-readiness developer tools.
