About
Language on the internet moves fast. Slang that emerged six months ago already shapes how people talk on X, Reddit, and group chats — and if you don't recognize it, you lose the thread. unSlang closes that gap. It works quietly in the background, detecting slang as you browse, and surfaces the meaning exactly when you need it: on hover, inline, without leaving the page. How It Works As you read any webpage, unSlang identifies words and phrases that carry slang meaning. Hover over a detected term and a small tooltip appears. No clicks required. No tab switching. The information comes to you. What the Tooltip Shows Each tooltip gives you four things: the decoded meaning in plain language, the tone of the word (sarcastic, earnest, ironic, hype, and so on), and a context cue that tells you when and where the term typically appears. That combination lets you understand not just what a word means, but how it lands. Going Deeper When you want more, expand the Full Decode view. It shows the generation most associated with the term, a usage signal indicating how current or fading the word is, a real example sentence, and a list of similar terms. This is useful when you're reading something where cultural fluency matters — an important conversation, a post you're about to respond to, or content you're producing for an audience you're still learning. Where It Works unSlang runs on every website. It's been built with feeds and conversations in mind, so it handles the density of X/Twitter timelines, Reddit threads, and Gmail without missing terms or slowing down the page. Privacy Detection runs entirely on your device. unSlang makes no server calls to process text. There is no account to create, no sign-in, and no data collected about what you read or which terms you look up. What you read stays with you. Try unSlang Free Install it, browse somewhere you normally read, and hover over the first term that gets highlighted. That's the whole experience. No setup. No configuration required. unSlang — Decode slang. Understand culture.
