About

🐾 Browser Pet is a tiny virtual animal that actually lives inside your browser — strolling along the bottom of every webpage you visit, reacting to your cursor, getting hungry, taking naps, and keeping your to-do list when you double-click it.

Stress relief. One paw at a time.

── IT GROWS. IT SHRINKS. IT GETS HANGRY. ──

Feed your pet from the extension popup and watch it grow plump and round. Neglect it and it visibly shrinks — thin, then bony. Let hunger hit zero and it turns into a skeleton. Keep. It. Fed.

── FOUR ANIMALS, EIGHT MOODS ──

Choose from a cat, dog, hamster, or fox. Each has a distinct personality that shapes how quickly it gets hungry, how social it is, and how long it naps.

Your pet cycles through 8 states:
• 😌 Idle — peaceful, blinking softly
• 🚶 Walking — when it has enough energy and happiness
• 😴 Sleeping — restoring energy (do NOT wake it)
• 😋 Eating — walking toward the food you dropped
• 🥳 Playing — after a click or a cuddle
• 👀 Alert — when your cursor ventures too close
• 😾 Angry — when you wake it mid-nap (it loses happiness AND hunger)
• 🙌 Carried — hold-click to pick it up, then release to throw it

── PICK IT UP AND THROW IT ──

Hold-click to grab your pet. Drag it anywhere on the page. Release while moving and it launches off in a ballistic arc — gravity pulls it back down to the ground. Satisfying every time.

── ROAMS BETWEEN TABS ──

Walk the pet to the edge of the screen and it migrates to the next open tab. Use the "Find Pet" button in the popup to jump straight to whichever tab it wandered into.

── BUILT-IN TO-DO LIST ──

Double-click the pet to open a floating task panel — styled to match your chosen animal. Add tasks, check them off, delete them. The list is saved locally and survives browser restarts.

── EATS PAGE ELEMENTS (opt-in) ──

Enable "Let pet eat page elements" in the popup and your pet will autonomously walk up to paragraphs and headings and chomp them away — complete with a glittery highlight. Disabled by default. Enable at your own risk (and delight).

── 100% PRIVATE. ZERO SERVERS. ──

Browser Pet collects no data, contacts no servers, and runs no analytics. Everything stays on your device.

• chrome.storage.local stores pet state and to-do items — nothing else
• The "tabs" permission is used only to track which tab your pet is on
• Page content is never read or transmitted
