About
Reviewing a big pull request? Lockfiles, snapshots, generated code, and unrelated app folders bury the changes you actually care about. PR Regex Dim lets you define simple patterns (regex OR globs like *.test.tsx) and, with one click, fades those files out and marks them as "Viewed" on the GitHub "Files changed" tab — leaving the meaningful diffs front and center. Nothing runs automatically and nothing is sent anywhere. You stay in control: open the popup, click the button (or press a shortcut), and the matching files are dimmed + collapsed. ────────────────────── WHAT IT DOES ────────────────────── • Pattern matching — one pattern per line. Use full regular expressions (\.lock$, ^src/apps/billing/) or easy globs (*.test.tsx, dist/*). • Dim + Viewed in one click — matching files are visually dimmed and marked Viewed (which collapses them on GitHub). • Dim follows Viewed — un-View a file and its dim disappears; re-View a matching file and it dims again. The two always stay in sync. • View all / Unview all — flip the Viewed state of every file in the PR at once. • Live match badge — a small badge shows how many files matched (e.g. "12/48 matched"). • Patterns are saved — set them once; they persist across PRs and sessions. • Works with both GitHub layouts — the new "Files changed" experience and the classic one. ────────────────────── KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS (on the PR page) ────────────────────── • Alt+Shift+D — dim + view matched files • Alt+Shift+V — view all • Alt+Shift+U — unview all ────────────────────── HOW TO USE ────────────────────── 1. Open a pull request and go to "Files changed". 2. Click the PR Regex Dim toolbar icon. 3. Enter your patterns (one per line) and click "Dim + View matched". 4. Done — noise files fade out and collapse; review what's left. Examples: • package-lock\.json → lockfiles • \.snap$ → Jest snapshots • (generated|vendor)/ → generated / vendored code • ^src/apps/billing/ → a single app folder • *.test.tsx → all test files (glob) ────────────────────── PRIVACY ────────────────────── 100% local. PR Regex Dim makes no network requests and collects no data. Your patterns are stored only in your browser via Chrome sync storage. The extension runs solely on github.com pull request pages.
