About

Swiftia YouTube Shorts Generator connects your browser to Swiftia so you can turn YouTube videos into AI shorts without leaving the watch page.

Who it’s for
Creators and teams who already use Swiftia and want a faster path from “watching a video” to “short generated, previewed, and rendered.”

What you can do
Generate from YT
On supported YouTube watch pages, use the in-page control to start a VideoShorts job with your Swiftia API key. No need to copy the video URL into another tab for that first step.

See your recent jobs
Open the extension popup to view your latest generations: status, progress, and how many shorts are available when the job completes.

Organization context at a glance
After a refresh (or when data is loaded), the header can show your organization name, plan, and remaining credits (from Swiftia’s credit API), so you know what account you’re using.

Preview on the web
For completed jobs, open Preview to jump into the Swiftia web app on the right short/job flow (you stay logged in in the browser; the extension uses your API key only for API calls).

Render to MP4
Start a render for a specific short from the popup. The extension can poll render status in the background and notify you when rendering finishes or fails. Completed renders can be opened for download from the popup. Render history is kept locally in the browser, separated per API key.

Stay in sync
The extension uses background polling for job updates and can show desktop notifications when a generation completes or fails. You can refresh manually to pull the latest jobs and credit info.

Settings
Save and validate your Swiftia API key in Settings. The key is stored with Chrome’s sync storage (so it can follow your signed-in Chrome profile where sync applies).

How to get started
Install the extension.
Open the extension popup → Settings.
Paste your Swiftia API key (from your Swiftia organization / API keys area) and save. The extension checks the key against Swiftia before saving.
Go to the video watch page and use Generate (or open the popup to manage jobs and renders).
Requirements
A Swiftia account and a valid API key for an organization that can use the Swiftia APIs you need (jobs, credit, render, etc.).
Network access to Swiftia (production or your preprod host, depending on how the extension build is configured).
Permissions (why they exist)
Storage: Save your API key (sync) and cache jobs, org summary, UI state, and render history (local).
Alarms: Schedule background checks so job/render updates continue when the popup isn’t open.
Notifications: Tell you when a job or render completes or fails.
Host access: YT (content script + button) and Swiftia domains (API and opening the web app).
