About
git diff for the open web.
Pages change without telling you. Vendors quietly drop a TLS version. Competitors raise prices on a Monday morning. Terms of service get edited in the margins. PageDiff captures the receipts.
Add a URL. Once a day, in the background, PageDiff snapshots the page. Open the popup, pick any two snapshots, see exactly what changed — added text in green, removed in red, like git.
What makes it different
Distill, Visualping, and ChangeTower are SaaS. They fetch from their own cloud, so they can't see your private GitLab wiki, your Notion page, your authenticated dashboard, your gated docs.
PageDiff snapshots from your browser session. If you can see the page, PageDiff can diff it. Bearer tokens supported for private APIs and self-hosted tools.
Three ways to diff
- Text — strips scripts and styles, diffs the meaning.
- HTML — preserves markup, shows inline <ins> and <del> tags.
- Selector — diffs only a CSS selector you set on the URL. Track just the pricing block on a busy marketing page; ignore everything else.
Manual snapshots when you need them
"Snapshot now" captures a fresh version of a tracked URL. "Snapshot this tab" captures whatever is currently on screen — including SPAs, gated documentation, and pages behind a login. Your browser session, your access.
Local-only by design
Snapshots, tokens, settings — all of it lives in chrome.storage.local on your device. No account. No sign-up. No cloud. No telemetry. No backend, because there is no backend.
What it's good for
- DevOps and SRE engineers tracking vendor changelogs and API deprecation pages
- Compliance and legal monitoring ToS and privacy policies across SaaS
- Product teams watching competitor pricing and feature pages
- Wiki maintainers without a built-in changelog (Confluence, GitLab, MediaWiki, DocuWiki)
- Researchers and journalists capturing changes to public-facing claims
Free. No tiers, no caps, no upgrade prompts.
Works in any Chromium browser — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi.
Confluence, Notion, GitLab are trademarks of their respective owners. PageDiff is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.Technical
