About

HeySnap connects the HeySnap web app to Chrome so your AI workspace can inspect browser pages, manage tabs, and run trusted browser actions from the HeySnap experience.

Use HeySnap when you want the HeySnap app to work with the browser you already use. The extension listens only to allowed HeySnap web origins and provides the browser capabilities needed for guided browsing, page inspection, screenshots, downloads, file upload workflows, tab management, and local native messaging.

Key capabilities:

- Connect the HeySnap web app to Chrome through a trusted extension bridge.
- Open, focus, update, and manage browser tabs from HeySnap.
- Inspect page state and run page-level browser commands.
- Capture page screenshots and managed-window previews.
- Support download and file-upload workflows initiated from HeySnap.
- Communicate with the HeySnap native bridge when local browser automation is required.

The extension is intended to be used with the HeySnap app. It does not add a standalone browser toolbar interface; instead, it enables browser control features from HeySnap after you install the extension and connect it from the app.

Privacy and permissions:

HeySnap requests browser permissions only to provide the browser-control features used by the HeySnap app. Some permissions are broad because browser automation requires access to tabs, page content, downloads, cookies, screenshots, debugger APIs, native messaging, and accessibility-related browser APIs when a user asks HeySnap to perform those actions.

HeySnap does not allow arbitrary websites to connect to the extension. The extension only accepts external messages from configured HeySnap web origins.
