About

SafeBrowse is a lightweight yet powerful browser extension that routes your web traffic through a secure, encrypted proxy relay — giving you privacy, location flexibility, and full control over which sites get proxied, all from a clean and minimal interface.

Whether you're looking to protect your browsing on public networks, access region-specific content, or simply keep your real IP address hidden from the websites you visit, SafeBrowse makes it effortless with a single click.

KEY FEATURES
─────────────────────────────────────────

🔒 ENCRYPTED TRAFFIC ROUTING
SafeBrowse routes your browser traffic through a TLS-encrypted relay server. The connection between your browser and the relay is fully encrypted using HTTPS, ensuring that your traffic cannot be intercepted or monitored on your local network or by your ISP.

⚡ ONE-CLICK ACTIVATION
Enable or disable the proxy instantly from the extension popup. The interface shows your current connection status, the proxy server's IP (partially masked for privacy), and the server's location — so you always know exactly what is active and where your traffic is going.

🌍 LOCATION AWARENESS
SafeBrowse displays the geographic location of the active proxy server directly in the popup, including the city, state, and country. This makes it easy to verify where your traffic is being routed and choose a different server if needed.

🔀 SPLIT TUNNELING
Not everything needs to go through the proxy. SafeBrowse includes a built-in split tunneling feature that lets you decide exactly which websites are proxied and which connect directly from your machine.

  • Exclude Mode — Route all traffic through the proxy except the domains you specify. Useful for keeping banking, internal tools, or streaming services on your direct connection while proxying everything else.

  • Include Mode — Only route traffic for the domains you specify through the proxy. Everything else connects directly. Ideal when you only need the proxy for a specific set of sites.

Simply enter one domain per line. Each entry automatically applies to the domain itself and all of its subdomains — so adding "google.com" covers "mail.google.com", "drive.google.com", and any other subdomain automatically.

🚀 AUTO-CONNECT ON STARTUP
SafeBrowse can automatically connect to the proxy every time your browser starts. This setting is disabled by default but can be enabled in the extension settings with a single toggle — no manual activation needed every time you open Chrome.

🛡️ WEBRTC LEAK PROTECTION
Even with a proxy active, browser technologies like WebRTC can sometimes reveal your real IP address to websites. SafeBrowse automatically disables non-proxied UDP connections while the proxy is active, preventing WebRTC from leaking your real IP.

🔁 SESSION MONITORING
SafeBrowse continuously monitors your proxy session in the background. If the connection is interrupted or the session expires, the extension automatically detects the change and updates the interface, ensuring you are never unknowingly browsing without proxy protection.

─────────────────────────────────────────
HOW IT WORKS
─────────────────────────────────────────

When you activate SafeBrowse, the extension connects your browser to a dedicated relay server using an HTTPS proxy connection. A PAC (Proxy Auto-Configuration) script is applied to your browser's proxy settings, directing traffic through the relay. The relay server forwards your requests to the destination through an upstream proxy, masking your real IP address from the websites you visit.

The relay connection uses TLS encryption, meaning the traffic between your browser and the relay is fully encrypted and indistinguishable from regular HTTPS traffic — making it work reliably even on networks that restrict non-standard traffic.
