About

notetaku companion lets you save anything you find online straight into your notetaku notes. Highlight some text, right-click an image, or grab a link, and it is clipped into a note in a single click, so you never have to switch windows, copy-paste, or lose your place while researching.

It is built for people who collect a lot from the web: students gathering sources, writers saving quotes, designers grabbing reference images, and anyone who keeps their thinking in notetaku. Selected text comes in as clean markdown, images and links are saved with the page title intact, and you can drop each clip into a new note, your last-used note, or a specific note you choose. Set a dedicated "links" note and saved pages always have a home.

Why install it: it removes the friction between finding something and keeping it. Everything stays private because the companion talks only to your own notetaku app running locally on your machine. Nothing is sent to a remote server, there are no accounts, and there is no tracking. A per-workspace auth code keeps the connection locked to your app alone.

Requires the notetaku app to function. notetaku must be installed and running for the companion to connect.

Getting started takes a minute:
1. In notetaku, open Settings > Companion and enable it.
2. Copy the auth code and paste it into the extension.
3. Right-click selected text, an image, or a link on any page to send it to notetaku.
