About

Transllmator is a prompt-powered writing and translation assistant for Chrome that rewrites text using any OpenAI API-compatible LLM endpoint.

It is not limited to literal language translation. With Transllmator, a “language” can be a real language, a tone, a persona, a writing style, or a custom instruction. That means you can translate text from English to Spanish, English to Japanese, English to formal business email, English to “LinkedIn Speak,” plain text to polished customer support tone, rough notes to concise executive summary, and more.

Whether you want to sound more professional, more casual, more persuasive, more diplomatic, or just different, Transllmator lets you define reusable translation modes and apply them anywhere you type.

Why Transllmator is different

Most translators only convert between natural languages. Transllmator treats translation as prompt-based transformation.

Instead of choosing from a fixed list of languages, you can create your own destination “language” using instructions like:
- English to French
- English to Legalese
- English to LinkedIn Speak
- English to Friendly Customer Support
- English to Blunt but Polite
- Brain dump to polished message
- Rough notes to presentation-ready copy

If a language model can follow the instruction, Transllmator can use it.

Core features

Multiple saved configurations
Create and store multiple translation configurations for different use cases. Each configuration can represent a different target language, tone, audience, style, or transformation workflow.

Custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint support
Use your own OpenAI API-compatible provider and model. Each saved configuration can include its own endpoint, API key, model, and prompt behavior.

Popup translator
Use the extension popup to paste text, translate it, and copy or reuse the result quickly. This is great for one-off rewrites, message cleanup, and style conversions.

Translate directly inside text fields
Transllmator can work where you already type. It can read text from supported input fields, textareas, and many contenteditable editors, send it to your configured model, then inject the transformed version back into the field.

Typing-pause based transformation
Write naturally first. Then let Transllmator wait for a pause in typing before translating or rewriting the content and reinserting it into the field. This helps keep your flow uninterrupted while still giving you AI-assisted output.

Field-aware workflow
Instead of forcing you into a separate app, Transllmator is designed to fit into real-world typing workflows such as chat boxes, comment fields, web forms, notes, and browser-based writing tools.

Reusable prompt-based “languages”
Save transformation modes once and reuse them any time. This makes it easy to maintain a consistent voice across messages, posts, customer replies, and professional communication.

Quick text replacement
Draft your original text, trigger translation or rewriting, and replace the field contents with the model output when you are ready.

Who it is for

Transllmator is useful for:
- people who write in multiple languages
- people who want to rewrite text into a specific tone or persona
- marketers and social media users
- customer support and sales teams
- founders, recruiters, and operators
- anyone who wants fast style conversion while typing on the web
- users who prefer bringing their own model provider instead of being locked into one service

Example use cases

- Rewrite a casual message into polished professional language
- Convert a rough thought into a cleaner LinkedIn post
- Turn a blunt sentence into something tactful
- Translate a support reply into another language
- Convert informal writing into executive-friendly phrasing
- Rework notes into something concise and readable
- Change tone on the fly while typing in a browser chat box
- Maintain multiple presets for different brands, audiences, or personalities

How it works

1. Create one or more saved configurations.
2. For each configuration, set your OpenAI-compatible API endpoint, model, API key, and translation instruction.
3. Use the popup to translate text manually, or use Transllmator in supported text fields on web pages.
4. Draft first, then let the extension transform your text into the selected target style or language.

Flexible by design

Transllmator is intentionally built around configurable prompts instead of hardcoded language pairs. This gives you much more freedom than traditional translators. You can use it as:
- a translator
- a tone converter
- a style adapter
- a persona writer
- a message polisher
- a browser-native writing assistant

Privacy and control

Transllmator is designed for users who want control over where requests go. You provide the endpoint and model. Your text is sent only to the API-compatible service you configure when you choose to use the extension or enable a workflow that triggers it.

API keys and configuration data are stored locally in the extension for convenience.

Notes

- Works best with standard text inputs, textareas, and many contenteditable editors.
- Some highly customized web editors may behave differently and may require additional tuning.
- Requires access to an OpenAI API-compatible endpoint and model.

If you want a Chrome extension that can translate not just languages, but intent, tone, voice, and style, Transllmator turns any prompt into a reusable writing mode and brings that power directly into your browser.
