About

You searched Gmail for something specific. Maybe every email from a vendor. Maybe every message with "invoice" in the subject. Maybe all correspondence with a client over the past year.

Gmail shows you the results. But then what? You need that list somewhere useful - in a spreadsheet, in a report, in a document. Gmail gives you no way to do that. You are left scrolling, copying, pasting, one email at a time.

That process ends here.

WHY GETTING A LIST OUT OF GMAIL IS SO HARD

Gmail is built for reading and writing emails, not for reporting on them. When you need a list of emails - for a project audit, client billing reconciliation, legal discovery, or just personal organization - you hit a wall:

- No built-in export for search results
- No way to copy multiple email subjects and dates at once
- Third-party tools require OAuth access to your entire mailbox
- Google Takeout exports everything, not just what you searched for

Most people end up opening each email, copying the details into a spreadsheet row by row. For 50 emails, that is an hour of mind-numbing work.

Email List for Gmail gives you one-click access to the data already on your screen.

WHAT THIS EXTENSION DOES

Email List scans the email rows visible on your current Gmail page and lets you save them as a CSV spreadsheet, a printable report, or copy them to your clipboard for pasting into any app.

No OAuth. No account access. It reads only what is already displayed in your browser.

Here is what you get:

Instant scan - Click the green button and the extension reads every email row on the current page. Subject, sender, sender email, date, labels, attachment status, and snippet are captured automatically.

CSV download - One click generates a properly formatted CSV file with UTF-8 encoding that opens correctly in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, or any spreadsheet app. Columns include Subject, From, From Email, Date, Labels, Has Attachment, and Snippet.

Printable report - Opens a clean table view in a new tab with a Print button. Perfect for creating a PDF summary of your search results.

Copy to clipboard - Copies the list as tab-separated text. Paste directly into Google Sheets, Excel, Notion, or any table-aware app and it lands in neat columns.

Load All - Gmail shows about 50 emails per page. Click "Load All" and the extension automatically scrolls to load every email in your search results, then scans the full list.

Select and filter - Every email gets a checkbox. Uncheck the ones you do not need. The select-all toggle and counter keep you in control.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Search in Gmail for the emails you need (or open any label/folder).
2. Click the green list button at the bottom right.
3. Review the scanned emails. Use "Load All" if you need more than one page.
4. Check or uncheck individual emails.
5. Click CSV, Print, or Copy.

Five steps. In practice, two clicks gets you a spreadsheet.

REAL SCENARIOS WHERE THIS HELPS

Client billing audit:
Search Gmail for "from:[email protected]" to pull up every email from a client this quarter. Save as CSV. Open in Excel. You now have a timestamped log of every interaction - useful for billing disputes or project retrospectives.

Tax preparation:
Search for "receipt" or "payment confirmation" and save the list. Your accountant gets a clean spreadsheet showing every receipt email with date, sender, and subject - before you even open the individual emails.

Legal document production:
An attorney asks for a list of all emails between you and a specific party during a date range. Search, load all, download CSV. The spreadsheet serves as an index for document production.

IT and compliance:
Need to audit which external services sent emails to your team? Search by domain, export the list, and you have a vendor communication log without touching the Google Admin console.

Job search tracking:
Search for emails from LinkedIn, Indeed, or specific company domains. Export to CSV and you have a tracker of every application response, interview invitation, and follow-up - without building a spreadsheet from scratch.

Newsletter cleanup:
Search for "unsubscribe" to find all newsletter emails. Export the list, sort by sender, and identify which subscriptions to keep and which to cancel.

WHAT THIS EXTENSION DOES NOT DO

- It does not access your Gmail account credentials
- It does not read emails beyond what is already displayed on your screen
- It does not send any data to any server
- It does not modify, delete, or interact with your emails in any way

The only permission it uses:

- storage - Saves the FAB visibility toggle (show/hide the button on Gmail). That is all.

No network requests. No analytics. No tracking. Everything runs 100% locally in your browser. The CSV file is generated entirely on your machine.

FREE AND UNLIMITED

Every feature is free with no limits. No premium tier. No usage caps. No sign-in required.

WHO THIS IS FOR

- Accountants and bookkeepers who need email logs for client records
- Legal professionals building document production indexes
- Project managers tracking email correspondence timelines
- Freelancers documenting client communication history
- IT teams auditing vendor and service email patterns
- Anyone who has ever wished they could just get a list out of Gmail
