## Requirements

Requires Aii Server running locally:

**Quick Install:**
```
curl -fsSL https://aiiware.short.gy/server.sh | bash
```

The Aii Server handles communication between the extension and AI providers. Once installed, the server runs on `localhost:26169` and the extension connects automatically.

**Recommended:** Aii Server v0.1.10+ for best experience with PDF and image processing.

**What You'll Need:**
1. Aii Server (installed via the command above)
2. API key for at least one AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, or Moonshot)

## Getting Started

**Step 1: Install Aii Server**
Run this command in your terminal:
```
curl -fsSL https://aiiware.short.gy/server.sh | bash
```

The server will start automatically and run in the background.

**Step 2: Install Extension**
Install from Chrome Web Store (you're here!)

**Step 3: Add Your API Key**
1. Click the Aii icon in Chrome toolbar
2. Go to Settings → LLM Providers
3. Enter your API key for one or more providers:
   - OpenAI (get key at https://platform.openai.com/api-keys)
   - Anthropic (get key at https://console.anthropic.com)
   - Google (get key at https://makersuite.google.com/app/apikey)
   - DeepSeek (get key at https://platform.deepseek.com)
   - Moonshot (get key at https://platform.moonshot.cn)

**Step 4: Start Chatting!**
- Open side panel (click Aii icon or Cmd+Shift+A)
- Ask questions about any webpage
- Upload images or documents for analysis
- Capture screenshots with the scissors icon
- Paste images with Cmd+V
- Enjoy AI-powered browsing!

## Pro Tips

**Screenshot Capture:**
- Click the scissors icon in the toolbar
- Draw a rectangle around the area you want to capture
- The image is automatically attached to your next message
- Great for asking about specific UI elements, charts, or images

**Image Paste:**
- Take a screenshot anywhere (Cmd+Shift+4 on Mac)
- Come back to Aii and press Cmd+V
- Image appears as an attachment ready to analyze

**Smart Model Switching:**
- If you attach an image and your current model doesn't support vision, you'll see a suggestion banner
- Click to switch to a compatible model instantly
- Works with Claude, GPT-4 Vision, and Gemini models

**File Attachments:**
- Drag and drop files directly into the chat
- Or click the attachment button in the toolbar
- Or press Cmd+U to open file picker
- Supported: Images, PDFs, videos (MP4, WebM), audio (MP3, WAV)

**Page Analysis:**
- Right-click anywhere on a page
- Select "Ask Aii about this page" → Choose analysis type
- Get instant insights without typing

**Multi-Page Context:**
- Click the page context button in toolbar
- Select multiple tabs to share with AI
