Changelog

  • Jun 9, 2026
    description
BriefFeed adds compact AI summaries near social posts and discussions you already read. It also supports selected article, product, launch, and developer pages as secondary reading aids.

It helps you understand dense posts, threads, discussions, product pages, and long articles faster while keeping the original source visible and easy to return to.

    What BriefFeed can do:
    - Add inline summaries near supported posts, discussions, article pages, product or launch pages, and developer pages.
    - Turn viewed content in the current tab into an AI Insights brief with source-linked takeaways.
    - Save useful posts and summaries to a local bookmarks side panel.
    - Optionally sync saved bookmarks to your own Notion database.
    - Keep summaries in your preferred language.
    - Let you pause summaries for specific sites.
    - Support user-enabled custom-domain article sites when BriefFeed detects a compatible article template and you grant access for that site.

Notion Sync is optional. After setup, new saved bookmarks can create or update Notion pages with the generated summary, tags, source link, author label, timestamp, visible source text, and visible media URLs. Your Notion token stays in this browser and is not sent to BriefFeed servers.

BriefFeed summarizes content already loaded in the current page. It does not use hidden platform APIs, collect cookies, read account/session data, capture full DOM snapshots, fetch private repository data, read newsletter email payloads, collect subscriber data, fetch hidden product payloads, or fetch paywalled article text that is not loaded on the page.

To generate summaries and AI Insights, BriefFeed sends a narrow payload to the hosted BriefFeed API, such as source URL or id, author display label, timestamp, platform, detected language, requested summary language, visible text, and optional visible link or quoted-post context. Optional Notion Sync sends saved-bookmark data directly from your browser to Notion's API using the token you configured.

BriefFeed is an independent tool and is not affiliated with the sites or services it supports.
BriefFeed adds compact AI summaries near social posts, discussion threads, comments, repository pages, and selected article pages you already read. It helps you decide what deserves attention without leaving the page or losing the original context.

You can save useful summaries as bookmarks, review them later in BriefFeed, generate lightweight insights from saved reading, and optionally sync selected items to Notion.

BriefFeed only summarizes content that is already loaded and visible in your browser. For supported article pages, including native and user-enabled custom-domain article sites, it reads the visible title, byline, and article body from the current page.

    Privacy and control:
    - Summaries are created from visible page content only.
    - BriefFeed does not collect cookies, account credentials, session tokens, follower graphs, private messages, or hidden platform API payloads.
    - BriefFeed does not fetch unread content in the background or crawl sites.
    - Notion sync is optional and runs only after you connect your own Notion workspace.
    - You can turn BriefFeed on or off from the extension popup.

BriefFeed adds compact AI summaries near the posts, threads, comments, profiles, repository pages, and discussion items you already have open in your browser.

It is designed as a lightweight reading assistant for busy social, community, news, forum, and developer pages. When supported content is already loaded on the current page, BriefFeed can place a short summary close to the original item, so you can quickly understand the main point while keeping the source text, media, links, replies, and surrounding context available.

BriefFeed also includes Insights. After you manually browse supported social feeds, Insights turns posts that entered your viewport in the current tab into a short brief with trends, useful takeaways, questions worth carrying forward, and possible next actions. Source posts stay linked so you can return to the originals or bookmark them for later.

    Key features:
    - Inline summaries near supported visible content
    - Insights based on posts you viewed in the current tab
    - Support for selected feeds, discussion threads, comments, long posts, articles, profile context, and repository overview pages
    - Summary language can follow your browser language or be changed from the extension popup
    - Short same-language items are skipped by default to keep the page lightweight
    - Pause or resume summaries for each supported site
    - Bookmark useful summaries and source items for later
    - Open saved items and Insights in a side panel
    - Copy or share saved summaries and Insights

    Privacy-focused by design:
BriefFeed summarizes only content already loaded in the current page. Insights is limited to posts that appeared on screen in the current tab. BriefFeed does not call hidden platform APIs, collect cookies, read account/session data, capture full DOM snapshots, or crawl content outside the current page.

To generate summaries or Insights, BriefFeed sends only the loaded-page content needed for the requested feature and minimal metadata such as item URL or id, author display name, timestamp, platform, detected language, requested summary language, visible text, and optional visible link metadata or quoted-post context.

BriefFeed is useful for people who follow fast-moving discussions and want a quick first pass before choosing what to read, save, or think through in depth.
