🧭 How it works (step‑by‑step)
1) Open Amazon, click the MerchSignal toolbar icon, and sign in.
2) Search Results (SERP):
  • MagicSearch: enter a seed (e.g., “cat shirt”), run the scan, view curated niches, open any in a new tab.
  • Manual Search: scan current results for BSR, price, review counts; pause/resume as needed.
  • Long‑Tail Keywords: generate ideas from the current page; copy single terms or Export CSV.
  • Filters & presets: refine by marketplace/product type and save presets for reuse.
3) Product Detail Page (PDP):
  • Dig Deeper: extract additional data from the PDP for more context.
  • Reverse ASIN: fetch keyword ideas for the product (BYOK supported).
  • AI TM Checker: quick risk screen on design/title/brand text.
  • BSR & Price History + Orders & Royalties: view simple charts and lightweight estimates.
  • Design actions: Download product image (where allowed) or send to Enhance/Vectorize (BYOK).
4) Organize & export:
  • Favorites / Workspace: save interesting listings, group them, and export selections.
  • CSV exports are only created when you click Export.
5) Optional BYOK (bring your own keys):
  • Settings → Providers: add your key(s) for OpenAI / Vectorizer to enable AI design/listing tools and vectorization. Keys stay on your device and are used only for the feature you invoke. Remove a key anytime.
6) Tips:
  • Works on Amazon pages only.
  • If Amazon asks to confirm you’re human, click “Continue shopping,” then rerun the scan.
  • You can pause/resume scans anytime.
🧩 Permissions — why we need them
• Site access (amazon.*): read the current page to produce the results you requested.
• activeTab & scripting: inject/remove the overlay after you click the icon.
• downloads: export the CSV/assets you explicitly request.
• storage: remember your toggles, filters, and small caches.
• If shown: offscreen — render user‑requested assets (e.g., image/vector export) without opening a visible tab; created only after a user action and closed immediately.

• We do not collect or sell browsing history.
• Page content is processed on‑device; limited membership/limits checks may contact https://merchsignal.com over HTTPS.
• BYOK keys (e.g., OpenAI/Ideogram/Vectorizer) stay on your device and are used only to call the provider you enable.
