PwdGen is a lightweight, privacy-first password generator for Chrome. It helps you create secure random passwords directly inside the browser extension popup, without opening a separate website or sending anything to a server.

PwdGen uses the browser Web Crypto API, including crypto.getRandomValues(), to generate random passwords locally on your device. Generated passwords are not uploaded, logged, analyzed, stored, or sent through analytics. The extension does not make network requests and does not require permission to read or modify webpages.

PwdGen is designed for everyday password creation, testing password rules, and quickly generating unique credentials for online accounts. For best security, use a different password for every account, store generated passwords in a trusted password manager, and enable MFA or passkeys where available.

Privacy and permissions:

PwdGen only requests the clipboardWrite permission so you can copy a generated password after clicking the Copy button. The extension does not request host permissions, does not read your browsing history, does not inspect webpages, and does not collect personal data.
