About
Control Chrome with Hermes. Hermes can use Chrome on your computer to complete work inside websites and apps where you are already signed in. OVERVIEW Hermes Chrome Connector lets Hermes Agent work with your existing Chrome browser through a local companion extension. Use it when a task depends on browser context, account state, or websites that require your existing Chrome session. Hermes can help inspect pages, summarize dashboards, open and organize tabs, test websites, fill forms, capture screenshots, and move through multi-step workflows across logged-in tools, internal apps, and external websites. The extension connects to Hermes through a local loopback bridge at 127.0.0.1:16319. It does not work as a standalone browser tool and requires Hermes Agent plus the hermes-chrome-plugin to function. Hermes works in dedicated tab groups so browser-based tasks stay visible and separated from your normal browsing session. Chrome control is locked by default and must be explicitly authorized in Hermes before chrome_* tools can be used. WHAT YOU CAN DO Research and gather context on specific websites Inspect pages, dashboards, and internal tools Open, activate, close, group, and organize tabs Click, type, scroll, navigate, and capture screenshots Fill forms or prepare requests, then stop for your confirmation Test and validate websites across multiple tabs GETTING STARTED Install the Hermes Chrome Connector extension. Install and enable Hermes Agent with the hermes-chrome-plugin. Load or run Hermes with the local Chrome bridge. Authorize Chrome control in Hermes with /chrome authorize. Ask Hermes for help with a browser-based task. Note: Hermes Chrome Connector is designed for Google Chrome and requires the local Hermes Agent bridge. It does not support other Chromium-based browsers at the moment.
